PRESS RELEASE -- Aug 24 -- SNL Kagan estimates that 84% of the U.S. population will have mobile phones by the end of 2007 and more than 100% by 2013. Over the next decade, U.S. cell phone subscriptions will increase about 3% per year and total industry average revenue per user (ARPU) should increase about 1.5% annually, from $52.38 today to $61.09 by 2017. These projections anticipate increased data use – including text, Web and video – which should cause data revenue to grow at a compound annual 14% rate, rising from 10% of service revenue to at least 22%.
