MEDIA.GUARDIAN.CO.UK -- Sep 13 -- Since ITV's roughly $245 million purchase of Friends Reunited in December 2005, the 7-year-old social network's growth in the UK has stalled despite its headstart. In July 2007, Bebo recorded 10.66 million unique visitors, MySpace 10.13 million, Facebook 7.6 million, and Friends Reunited 2.89 million. Over the last 12 months, Facebook's traffic increased 2393%, Bebo 173%, MySpace 96%, and Friends Reunited 1.2%. Still, Friends Reunited is profitable and last year reported turnover up 38%. Mark Brooks: I still use FriendsReunited for connecting with my UK school friends, but FriendsReunited has simply not emerged as anything more than a service for finding old friends. It needs more functionality, and bit more pizzazz.
