SEATTLE PI -- May 27 -- Pelago has scored $15 million in venture financing, money that the Seattle startup will use to expand its mobile social networking application, Whrrl, in Europe and Asia. Whrrl is a mobile city guide that also allows cell phone users to pinpoint their friends' locations on a map. Whrrl is still in testing, with the company declining to disclose the number of downloads. The investors are well-positioned to help with the international push -- Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile unit and Reliance Technology Ventures of India. Other investors in the round, which follows a $7.4m financing in 2006, are DAG Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Trilogy Equity Partners and Bezos Expeditions. FULL ARTICLE @ SEATTLE PI
