Skype Hits 521 Million Users

TECH CRUNCH - Oct 21 - Skype’s registered users grew 41% to 521M people. That’s 40M new registered users in the past three months. Revenues grew 29% to $185M. Free Skype-to-Skype minutes grew 74% to 27.7 billion minutes, whereas SkypeOut minutes (which is what members pay for) grew 44% to 3.1 billion minutes. FULL ARTICLE @ TECH CRUNCH

Mark Brooks: I'm very impressed with the Skype calling service of late. The sound quality is very strong.  Especially skype to skype calls. The screen sharing functionality is a welcome addition.  And now that I'm able to call out and show a number in people's caller id, I'm using Skype almost as my primary calling service. If only they would integrate Phonetag.com services and some of Toktumi and RingCentral features.
