MASHABLE - Dec 27 - Facebook has filed for trademarks for Poke, the Snapchat-like app it released on Friday. Facebook filed for other trademarks as well, including for "Facebook Poke" and the logo for the iPhone app. The app, which lets users send text, video and photo messages that self-destruct within 10 seconds, is very similar to Snapchat. That company's co-founder Evan Spiegel acknowledged Facebook's Poke with a brief statement on Friday: "Welcome, Facebook. Seriously."
