Social Networking Through Search

SEARCH ENGINE LAND -- Oct 31 -- Hakia, a natural language search engine, has just added 'Meet Others' feature letting users connect with others who are searching for the same things they are. The feature is entirely opt in. When a search is conducted, the user sees a Meet Others icon above the search results. This provides access to a room where users can post and answer messages and provide details about how they want to be contacted by other users, (masked email or instant messaging via MSN or Skype).
