Mochi Media Fund Spreads $400,000 Across 20 Online Game Developers

TECH CRUNCH - Dec 15 - Mochi Media has established a $10M game developer fund in partnership with Shanda Games, which had just acquired the company for $80M. The company has invested ~$400K in 20 developers so far. Mochi Media Launches $10 Million Investment Fund

TECH CRUNCH - Mar 8 - Flash game advertising network and payments platform Mochi Media is launching a social gaming platform and a $10M fund to invest in game developers. Mochi Social allow developers to build social features into their games such as inviting friends, sending gifts, or posting to an activity stream. The platform currently integrates with Facebook, MySpace and Twitter with more sites to be added in the near future. Mochi Media Acquired By Shanda Games

TECH CRUNCH - Jan 11 - Mochi Media, a Flash game advertising network and payments platform funded by Accel Partners and Shasta Ventures, has been acquired by Shanda Games for $60M in cash and $20M in equity. Mochi Raises $10 Million

TECH CRUNCH -- June 18 -- Mochi Media, a company that helps developers monetize their Flash games, has closed a $10m Series B funding round. The round was led by Shasta Ventures with additional funding from Accel Partners, a previous investor. Mochi Media closed its Series A Round of $4m last March. The company has been able to establish itself in the gaming space, but faces a constant threat from advertisers in the Flash movie space, who could easily shift their focus to gaming.
