TECH CRUNCH - Jan 6 - Skype has just picked up mobile video startup Qik. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed but sources tell Business Insider that deal was ~$150M. Qik, which enables mobile phones users to record and stream videos in realtime, has 5M users. It looks like Skype will be using Qik’s live video streaming technology. FULL ARTICLE @ TECH CRUNCH

Qik Adds Mobile Video To Facebook
MASHABLE -- Apr 20 -- Qik, the live streaming video service for mobile phones, has launched its own Facebook integration application to help publish videos to the social network. Users can now upload mobile video directly to the Facebook video app. You cannot post live video, but Qik allows you to post a link to live video on their website instead. Qik Opens Public Beta
READ WRITE WEB -- July 21 -- The
live streaming video service Qik just opened up its previously closed
beta to the public. Users will
be able to stream live video from their supported mobile phones
directly to the web without having to wait for an invitation from Qik. Qik now supports more granular
permissions and the grouping of videos. Qik has also released an update
to its video player, which now includes
the option to chat with other users from within the player. Qik also announced some new distribution partners, including

Qik Demos iPhone Video Streaming Service
MASHABLE -- June 12 -- Flixwagon, announced their own iPhone video
streaming service called Qik. The feature isn't available yet, but
will allow users to use Qik in the same way they do currently
with their Nokia N95 (or other supported devices). Qik expects to
